ALTERNATE PRESIDENT
SAE ALTERNATE PRESIDENT MEETS THE MINISTER OF NATIONAL DEFENSE
Athens, 2/9/2004

SAE Alternate President, Mr. Stefanos P. Tamvakis met today with the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Spilios Spiliotopoulos at the Minister�s Office, and discussed issues relevant to military service for Hellenes Abroad and issues of cooperation among the World Council of Hellenes Aborad and the Ministry of National Defense.

Mr. Tamvakis congratulated the Minister for the excellent organization of the Olympic Games that filled all Hellenes around the world with pride.

Mr. Spiliotopoulos thanked SAE and all Hellenic Associations for their support during the organizing of these very successful games.

The Minister promised to look into the matter mentioned by SAE Alternate President regarding the deduction of the military service for Hellenes Abroad from six to three months, and agreed to offer the Ministry�s support especially on issues relevant to youth.
