On Wednesday September 15, 2004 at the Holy Monastery of St. George in Cairo the funeral and burial of the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Petros took place. Present were the Ecumenical Patriarch, the Patriarchs of Jerusalem and Antioch, many Orthodox Higher Priest, the Higher representative of Islam in Egypt, the President of the Hellenic Republic, representatives of the Greek Government, the Hellenic Parliament and the political parties, representatives of the Egyptian and Cypriot Governments and many Hellenes.

SAE Asia-Africa was represented at the funeral, by SAE Vice-President, Coordinator for Asia-Africa, Mr. Vasilis Magdalinos as a head of a delegation consisted of SAE representatives in Egypt.
