Stefanos P. Tamvakis meets with the Omogeneia in South Africa

SAE Alternate President, Mr. Stefanos P. Tamvakis met with the Omogeneia of South Africa on the side of his visit in Cape Town for tonight�s arrival of the Olympic Flame.
In the morning he participated at a business breakfast organized by the Metropolitan of Good Faith, Mr. Sergios, with the participation of: the Metropolitan of Johannesburg, Mr. Serafeim, SAE Vice-President, Coordinator for Asia-Africa, Mr. Vasilis Magdalinos, the President of the Federation of Hellenic Communities of South Africa, Mr. PAnayiotis Manikas, the President of the Hellenic Community of Cape Town, Mr. Martalas and the President of the Community of Durban, Mr. Stylianidis. The main issues of discussion included education and the support of the National Fund of Hellenes Abroad. All participants expressed their satisfaction for the cooperation among the Church-SAE and the Communities in South Africa.
On June 10, Mr. Tamvakis met with the Consul General of Greece in Cape Town, Mr. Christodoulos Margaritis and the Vice-President of the Hellenic Community of Cape Town, Mr. Aris Efstathiou, and discussed the issue of SAE�s further activation in South Africa and its cooperation with the Communities.
Late at the evening, during the arrival of the Olympic Flame, Mr. Tamvakis addressed the crown and focused on the fact that both SAE and the Omogeneia will offer their full support to Greece in order to organize the best and safest Olympic Games this summer. Mr. Tamvakis also expressed his satisfaction for the fact that the Olympic Flame passes from two African cities (Cairo, Cape Town), where Hellenism has had a long and very important presence. Mr. Tamvakis also met with the Director for Hellenism Abroad for ATHENS 2004, Ms. Dimitra Eghan.
A reception followed at the Hellenic Club, celebrating this historic day for Hellenism and the Omogeneia of South Africa.
