Nicosia, 1/10/2004
The Coordinating Council of SAE Europe Region will hold its meeting in Nicosia on October 2-4, 2004. Mr. Angelo Aslanidis, SAE Vice-President, Coordinator for Europe will be presiding.
During the first day of the meeting the members of the Coordinating Council will be updated on the positions of the Greek Government regarding SAE�s structure, based on a document prepared by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Panayiotis Skandalakis on the Enabling Law for SAE.
Among the issues that will be discussed will be the problems faced by our fellow Hellenes in the countries of the Black Sea, SAE structure, the effectiveness of SAE�s advisory and consultative role and the projects and programs such is the National Fund of Hellenes Abroad (ETO).
During the meetings a conference will take place with the Associations of Hellenes Abroad in Cyprus.
During their stay in Nicosia, the member of the Regional Coordinating Council will be updated on the latest developments on the Cyprus Issue by the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Georgios Iakovou, and will have a series of meetings with political leadership of Cyprus.
Today October 1, 2004 the member of the Coordinating Council will participate at the celebrations for the Independence of Cyprus.
