SAE Secretary, Ms. Eleni Konstantinidou visited Ukraine where she attended the inauguration ceremony of the Clinic οΏ½HELLASοΏ½ in the Hellenic Municipality of Stari Krim. Ms. Konstantinidou also met with the President of the Federation of Hellenic Communities of Ukraine, Ms. Alexandra Protchenko, with whom she discussed the further development of the project οΏ½MOTHERS OF HELLENISMοΏ½, which is coordinated by the Agency of Hellene Women Abroad in Cyprus.

The program aims at the offering of financial support to poor children in the countries of the Black Sea and operates through a system of οΏ½sponsoring adoptionsοΏ½ by two adopting mothers from Greece and the Diaspora who contribute with the annual amount of 60 Euros.

Apart from the offering of financial support, the program also aims at the acquaintance of Hellene women among them and the development of a sense of solidarity and social consistency of Hellenism and the promotion of Hellenic education of children of Greek origin in the countries of the Black Sea.

Ms. Eleni Konstantinidou had also the opportunity to meet many of the children financially supported by the project and offered them gifts from their οΏ½adopting mothersοΏ½. SAE Secretary also attended the events organized at the schools of the Greek villages of Sartanas, Maloyianisol and Urzuf, with the participation of students that learn the Greek language.

Ms. Konstantinidou participated at a meeting organized by SAE Vice-President, Coordinator for Europe, Mr. Angelo Aslanidis with the participation of the Presidents of Hellenic Associations in Mariupol.

On October 9, Ms. Konstantinidou attended a meeting with the Greek Ambassador to Kiev, Mr. Panayiotis Goumas and the Coordinator for Education, Ms. Grammatoula Batziou, on issues regarding Hellenic education in Ukraine.
