The Coordinating Council of SAE Asia-Africa Region is meeting in Alexandria. SAE Vice-President, Coordinator for Asia-Africa, Mr. Vasilis Magdalinos is presiding, while SAE Alternate President, Mr. Stefanos P. Tamvakis also attends the meetings.

The members of the Coordinating Council from Africa, Middle East and Kazakhstan, will discuss issues of concern for Hellenes in the two continents. Emphasis will be given to issues relevant to education aiming at the enhancements and further promotion of the Greek Language and culture. The relevant proposals will be submitted by Mr. Magdalinos at the upcoming meeting of the SAE Board that will take place at the beginning of December in Thessaloniki.

The Regional Coordinating Council will also discuss proposals regarding the new Enabling Law for SAE based on the upgrading of the world organization and the approach of the wide Omogeneia around the world.

Yesterday Mr. Magdalinos and the members of the Coordinating Council had a first meeting with His Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, Theodoros BοΏ½, to whom they conveyed the full support of all Hellenes in Africa to Him and the Patriarchate. The new Patriarch expressed his willingness for cooperation with SAE to the benefit of all Hellenes and the Region of Asia-Africa.

The members of the Coordinating Council also met with the new Consul General of Greece to Alexandria, Mr. Theoharis Lalakos and with representatives of Local Authorities who expressed their respect for Hellenism of Alexandria.

The meeting of the SAE Asia-Africa Coordinating Council will conclude its works today.

On Sunday October 24 the members of the Coordinating Council will attend the Enthronement of His Beatitude the Pope & Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, Theodoros BοΏ½.
