The World Council of Hellenes Abroad (���), N. & S. America Region, announces that the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) in Greece is offering the following scholarship programs for the academic year 2005 - 2006. 

Scholarships for Postgraduate / Postdoctoral Studies in Greece

The Hellenic Republic�s State Scholarships Foundation will offer up to forty (40) scholarships for nationals (foreigners or those of Greek origin) from U.S.A., Canada, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan and up to another ninety (90) scholarships for nationals from Latin America, the Balkans, Central or Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa for studies in Greece for the academic year 2005-2006.

Specifically, the scholarships being offered are for:

a)     Postgraduate studies for:

i)    Doctorate (Ph.D) for one (1) year up to f�ur (4) years.

ii)   Second Master for one (1) year up to three (3) years.

b)     Postdoctoral research studies for six (6) months up to one (1) year.

c)      Further education in the Greek Language, Literature, Philosophy, History and Art for professors of   Greek in foreign Universities, for six (6) months up to one (1) year.

d)     Attendance of seminars for specialization in the Fine Arts, for one (1) year up to two (2) years.

e)     Collection of research data for applicants who are conducting Ph.D studies in their country, for one (1) year.

Scholarships for categories b), c), d) and e) are for non-degree programs.  The field of study must be available at a Greek University.  Applicants are allowed to apply for only one category of scholarship.

The submission deadline is May 15, 2005. Candidates will be notified of the decision of the IKY through the Greek Diplomatic Authorities, after August 2005.
