PRESIDENT'S OFFICE
EASTER MESSAGE BY SAE PRESIDENT, ANDREW A. ATHENS
Chicago, 26/4/2005

Easter week that lead us to Christs Resurrection reflects our aspiration for a better and more just life, and our hope our personal and collective rebirth. These holy days we, the Hellenes around the world verify the strong bonds of Hellenism with Orthodoxy, two intertwined concepts that has kept our nation united for centuries.
Through the customs, traditions and values of our homeland we are called upon especially these holy days to transmit to the younger generations the messages carried by the greater feast of Orthodoxy, messages of love for our fellow human beings and messages for sacrifice and struggle whenever and wherever this is necessary.
These days our thoughts are with the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the rest of the Orthodox Patriarchates around the world and with our brothers and sisters who need our support. Our thoughts should also be with our fellow Hellenes in Tsalka, Georgia who experience their own Calvary. Along with Greece, in unity we make any possible effort, and we promise that we will not stop until their basic human rights are fully protected in order to be able to continue living in the land of their forefathers.
I strongly believe that united the Omogeneia can face any difficulties and challenges and grace Hellenism around the world by strengthening its relations with Greece.
With these thoughts and the sincere feelings of love on behalf of the Board of the World Council of Hellenes Abroad, I wish you all good health, happiness and every success.

Kalh Anastash, Kalo Pasxa!
ANDREW A. ATHENS
