U.S. Commerce Dept., leading investment, technology companies among participants in Technology & Investment Symposium
CHICAGO, September 16 � The U.S. Commerce Department, the Illinois Commerce Department, the International Trade Club of Chicago, a major investments company and an international technology company are among the sponsors of the Symposium �Technology and Investments in Hellas� to be held September 29 in Chicago.
�We are extremely pleased that there is such a widespread recognition of the importance of this economic Symposium both by public agencies and the private sector,� said Andrew A. Athens, President of World SAE and National Chairman of the United Hellenic American Congress, organizers of the event.
�As a matter of fact, the investment company is a Hellenic-owned enterprise, Calamos Investments, a respected, successful financial company with $41.5 billion under management. We are looking forward to helping in the economic advancement of Hellas. Abbott Laboratories Hellas, part of a worldwide pharmaceuticals company based in the Chicago area, is also an active sponsor.
Minister of Development Dimitris Sioufas is the keynote speaker at the Symposium which aims to focus on Hellas as an attractive base for the establishment of technology companies which usually require foreign investment and world markets. The Hellenic Investments Center (ELKE) is also a participant. This conference emphasizes the Hellas as the economic engine of southeast Europe and a gateway to the Balkans and EU.
Presentations to an audience of financial leaders technology scientists will be made on Thursday, Sept. 29, and private business meetings will be held on Friday, Sept. 30.
