CHICAGO, Jan. 10 --  UHAC National invites the participation of the entire Hellenic community at a VIP reception on Saturday, Feb. 4, when it honors U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe in order to raise support for the only Greek American senator seeking re-election in 2006.

The reception will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at Cotillion Banquets,  360 S. Creekside Dr., Palatine, Illinois, immediately prior to the banquet  sponsored by the Cypriot American Society and UHAC National for Senator Snowe and the new Cyprus Ambassador to the U.S., Euripides L. Evriviades.

Senator Snowe has been an invaluable supporter of Hellenic and Orthodox issues in the Senate and, previously, in the U.S. House of Representatives, for more than 27 years, said Andrew A. Athens, National Chairman of UHAC National and President, World SAE.

Sen. Snowe was the first Greek-American woman and the youngest Republican woman ever elected to the U.S. Congress when she became a member at the age of 31.  Recently, she became the first Republican woman to secure a full-term seat on the Senate Finance Committee. She is a member of the Senate Leadership, as the Counsel to the Majority Leader. She is also the Chair of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, and a member of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee and the Select Intelligence Committee.

I am seeking the assistance of every individual interested in good government and every Hellene concerned about our important issues in the U.S. Senate, Mr. Athens said.  Please consider a contribution in the amount of $2,000, $1,000, $500 or $250.

Make checks payable to Snowe for Senate, and send them to UHAC National, 980 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1210, Chicago, IL 60611.
