UHAC to Honor Greek-American Bankers

The United Hellenic American Congress (UHAC) will honor Greek-Americans who have made their mark in the banking industry at their 31st Annual Banquet, Saturday, November 11, 2006, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Chicago.  Honorees will include some of the biggest names in Chicago banking.

Banks play an important role on the local, state and federal levels not only in the U.S. economy, but also globally as we see from the work of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), says Andrew A. Athens, UHACs National Chairman. We are proud of the work that Greek-American bankers are doing in Chicago.  UHAC is honored to recognize the accomplishments of Hellenes who are making a difference in todays banking industry, continued Mr. Athens.

UHAC was created to address Hellenic causes when Hellenes around the world were shocked and outraged by the brutal invasion of Cyprus by Turkey.  Founded on the principles to protect and preserve Hellenism and Orthodoxy, as well as the human rights of all Hellenes, UHAC works on local, regional, national and international levels to promote the Hellenic heritage and culture, defend the Ecumenical Patriarchate and enhance relations between Greece, Cyprus and the United States.  UHAC's work throughout its 31 years has made a direct and sustained impact on the political and social relationships between the US, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey.

UHAC welcomes all members of the community, Hellenes and Phil-Hellenes to attend the 31st Annual Banquet and join in the celebration. For ticket and sponsorship information contact the UHAC office at 312 640/1055.  We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, November 11, 2006.
