| World SAE Telethon for Hellenicare |
 �If there are Hellenes�there is hope� is the message of the Telethon organized by the World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE) in cooperation with ERT S.A. in support of the Program of Medical Care, Hellenicare.
The Telethon will take place on November 18, 19 & 20 through ERT-WORLD for Hellenes Abroad while on November 20 the marathon will be broadcasted in Greece through NET channel.
At the press conference given in Athens October 24, SAE President Andrew A. Athens in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Theodoros Kassimis, invited Hellenes around the world to contribute for the continuance and expansion of Hellenicare.
The program established in 1997 by SAE President is a source of hope for Hellenes still living in the historic Hellenic communities in Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Albania, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, since more than 1 million patients have received free medical care at the Medical Centers, the Clinics, the Medical Mobile Units and the distribution of humanitarian assistance (food, clothing, etc).
�All Hellenes should help our brothers who need our assistance and have the right to live in dignity. It is our duty to offer our help to those previously forgotten and make them believe that Hellenes and Hellas still care�, Mr. Athens said.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Theodoros Kassimis, among others stressed the fact that �the presence of Medical Centers make people believe that where Hellas exists, there is hope�, �this is a valuable program not only for its humanitarian cause but also for its political power within the international community.�
Mr. Kassimis expressed his gratitude to Mr. Athens for his work and stressed the fact that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will offer its assistance to this effort.
More than $120 million have been given by the Governments of Greece, USA and NGO�s for the support of the program. In the near future, SAE-Hellenicare plans to open a new Medical Center in Southern Russia and a medical laboratory in the public clinic of Himara, Albania.
At the press conference also present were, SAE�s advisor, Mr. Periklis Pilidis and the Director of ERT-WORLD, Mr. Nikos Kourtis.
Famous artists, athletes, etc will participate at the 3-day telethon the name of which will be announced soon. The ways you can contribute (through telephone, sms, bank accounts) will be announced shortly.
