The traditional Greek custom of Vasilopita cutting will take place through the Internet for any Hellene and Philhellene around the world who wishes to have a piece.

The cutting of e-Vasilopita will take place on February 19, 2005 at 17:00 and will be broadcasted live only in Greece by ET3 and the program Diaspora.

The sponsors-hosts of this year s event are the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Panayiotis Skandalakis, the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georgios Iakovou, SAE President, Andrew A. Athens and SAE Board, and the Youth Association of Hellenes of Germany. The event is organized in cooperation with the company Diaktinismos from Komotini, which is the creator of the original idea of e-Vasilopita.

Free registrations for a piece of e-Vasilopita are accepted until February 17, 2005 through the website  www.vasilopita.gr, the website of Youth Association of Hellenes of Germany www.neolaia.de or through the website of SAE Europe http://europe.sae.gr. To every virtual coin corresponds one silver, golded plated Konstantinato copy of 324 A.D., and will be delivered by mail to the lucky ones.

The number of coins will depend on the number of sponsors who can contact the offices of e-Vasilopita. The cost of the event is covered exclusively by sponsorships. Any gifts, coins and sponsorships will be accepted until February 17, 2005.
