With approximately 1000 exhibits the exhibition οΏ½ Welt von ByzanzοΏ½ at the Archäologische Staatssaammlung München until April 3, 2005 invites us to discover the world and glamour of the Byzantine Empire.
This is the largest so far Byzantine exhibition in Germany and includes unique exhibits from the Museum of Byzantine Art of Berlin, the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the British Museum in London and the National Museum of Budapest. The exhibits cover 1000 years of history and come from all over the Mediterranean Sea region. Mosaics, jewelry and religious items are only some of the exhibits that depict all aspects of the daily life in the Byzantine era. The last exhibition hall is dedicated to the relation among the Byzantium and Bavaria.
